Critiques
The composition is simplistic, showing no adherance to any paritcular 'rule' of composition. The grasses which form the focal point of the image are small in size compaired tot he rest of the image, yet the detail and graphic quality make the subject fascinating, particularly when placed against the backdrop.
I assume that the softness of the background is acheived by a skillful selection of aperture and focus. This really helps the grass to stand out but more importantly it gives the image a dreamlike quality, which is further enhanced by the pinks of the sky.
The trees which stretch into the image from the top offer and excellent third point of interest. Juha has selected his camera position perfectly to maximise the effect of the trees framing the grass whilst not intruding upon the necessary space requires to give the subject room to breath.
The processing is tasteful, providing a richness in colour whilst maintaining the honest pastels present in the original scene.
My only point of criticism is that I find the oranges to the top of the image a slight distraction. Were this image mine I would be inclined to crop that small part from the top, just to reduce the colour pallette slightly.
All in all this image is absolutely delightful. I find it to be not only a pleasure to look at but also very inspiring. Juha should be commended on the prodcusion of such a fine image.
