Frozen BW by jjuuhhaa Frozen BW by jjuuhhaa
Normally I would not post two versions of the same picture, but this time I could not decide which one I liked the better and after getting affirmative from some others, I decided to post this also.
Here is a link for the colour version: [link]

Thank you. There are so many ways one can make a BW-conversion.
Calculations is one of those, but with this one I have used the channel-mixer.
You could try adding a gradient overlay from black to white and then channel mixer adjustement layer, starting with the constant at -8 and red about 60 and then play around with the sliders to see what you like best.

wait by gradient overlay do you mean that layer style should be "overlay"?

Nope, the adjustement layer is called that.

I like this quite a bit. I like the one in colour quite a bit too. Not sure which one I like most. This one definitely has a darker feel to it, but its all shiny and silvery and that's cool indeed. =)

It reminds me of a photo of mine, The Cell.

Oh, thank you.
Now that they are both here no one needs to decide which one he would prefer :D

The BW version looks more sinister. I can't tell that it was taken during the day, really. It adds darkness to the left side of the tree and the sky. :|

I'm really liking the way you can see the ice frozen around the branches, yet the the branches are still visible as though there is nothig on them.
